One of the biggest worries for road warriors is the expensive and fickle nature of their laptop's wireless connections. To solve this problem wholesale mobile electronics makers from China have released new modems that use GSM EDGE technology to keep people connected.

EDGE stands for Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution. Cell phone and laptop owners with EDGE capable devices can surf the internet, view streaming videos/music and download data.

EDGE has let businesspeople stay in touch with devices like smart phones and PDA's. However, it hasn't been possible to harness EDGE's WAP capabilities for notebook modems.

According to Chinavasion's PR manager, Rose Li, there used to be only one way to take advantage of the fast and relatively inexpensive download times. That was to get an expensive smart phone and then go through a lengthy and complicated 'tethering' process.

"Tethering was, and always will be, a risky business which is expensive to do and ties up two business tools to do the same thing," according to Rose Li. "Thankfully wholesale mobile phone makers have come up with a way to get around that."

According to Chinavasion's Rose Li wholesale mobile phone manufacturers and wholesale electronic manufacturers are making EDGE and 3G modems which are primarily build to give EDGE GSM SIM cards the ability to surf the internet over the EDGE network.

The Easter Bunny certainly has had a lot of surprises for the World Wide Web so far this month. The usual slew of April fools jokes were played, an eBay bomb was dropped on eBook sellers and several new web 2.0 services took a larger grip on the netizen population's collective imagination

April First has always been a time for practical jokes and this has only flourished on the internet. This year was no exception with Google, Virgin Blue and Thinkgeek.com getting in on the high jinks. Chinavasion also told a little 'untooth' in the spirit of the day but more about that below.

Powersellers Unite Forum Members have been less than happy with eBay this month.

EBook sellers and general eBay traders got hit with what they wished were April Fools Jokes. Ebay announced on April 2nd that it would no longer allow auction type sales for digital products, which would only be able to sold in classified ads with no special category mentioning. This enfuriated eBook sellers especially as many had built up successful businesses using their seller reputations on eBay as credentials.

EBay didn't stop there however announcing soon after that sellers would no longer be able to comment on buyers. Forum members on PowersellersUnite, an Ebay-focused forum set up in protest to an similar move by eBay a few years ago.

Internet news hasn't been filled with stories of shenanigans though.
